What type of scale is used to measure the pottery clay when and where it can be found cheaply?
I try make my own pottery studio, passing offshore of memory other studios that I used. I'm looking to scale to measure the wet clay, not powdered enamels, etc. Someone said to look for a postal scale, but it only goes up to 2 lbs. What type scale people usually use in a pottery studio?
How about a cheap kitchen scale? You might even be able to find one in a thrift shop or used on Craig's list. The only reason I can think of to weigh wet clay would facilitate making plates, cups or bowls of uniform size. If you do not want to do that I would not worry scale right now.
